Josha Bell 's experiment at the Washington metro station.

Today, I was saw a short video clip about an famous violinist Josha Bell's especial experiences that he playing violin in the metro station about 15mins. this vedio recorded in a busy time. People just walk around. They did not found an famous violinist perform in front of them. They do not care who is playing. Some people threw the money to him. When he played about 3mins. A girl recognize that is Josha Bell. And she talk to him about his CD recording.
When i watching this short vedio. I think in America, it is a common thing that people used to see some performer present in front of them. Especially on the street or in some merto stations.And in America the street performer always have high standard. I know a interested thing. In america, if people want to perform on the street. They must attend to a job competition then you can gain a place for play or sing on the street. That is not easy, Especially for classical music, it needs to present in a good place. Not on the street or metro station.

A genre of music I particularly enjoy...

Jazz is a genre of music i particularly like.

This kind of music beginning of the 20th century in Southern United States. It was popular from 20th century. and Jazz has his own special rhythm and harmony.

I study classical music, why i interested in such kind of music like Jazz? Because Jazz music can make me feel very relax and comfortable. Especially, when i finish a whole day work. I just sit on my bed listen the music , that is very enjoyable thing. And I have another reason that is jazz relative with classical music. Some composer combined elements of the jazz idiom with classical style. Some chord that jazz used borrow from classical style. On the other hand, some jazz composer and some jazz band they rewrite some piece from famous classical composer: Like Mozart, Beethoven. Haydn.etc. That is also very beautiful and interesting.

For instance, Walking bass this music element beginning from Baroque period. But this term used in many styles of popular music. Include jazz music. It usually play in bass part. And played by Piano. Double bass ,Electric bass, wind bass. In Jazz music this element almost used in every jazz band.

In jazz music also have different kind. Like Cool jazz ;Free jazz; smooth jazz.etc . I prefer smooth jazz because smooth jazz hears like lounge music. It never increase the beat at lower notes.

I highly recommend people try to lesson some jazz music at your daily life. it can helps you decrease stress. Maybe you can feel more interested in your life.

What music means to me...

For me it is really hard to describe what music means to me. It is a part of my life. And it
influences my growth.
When i was young, I do not know I was born in a musician family. You know, a child do not have any concept about this. I know i live in a small house with just two rooms including a bath room. When i grow up, I know there is a faculty for Conservatory of Music. Well, actually my grandmother and my mother both play the flute as professinal player in the orchestra. My grandfather did the same jov but he play viola. And my dad work in the conservatory of music. But at the beganning, they did not tell me anything about music, and they did not expect me do the same job with them. I play the flute because at that time I did not have a good score in my study. In my country, a good score really is a big deal, it can effect people which school you can attend to. So my grandmother teach me how to play the flute, that can add a little bit score when you pass the exam for middle high shcool. But they found i doing it quite well. So my dad said, just let her try to attend a music school. I just obey their order. I passs the exam and study in a music academy school. But a few years later. I decide to give up flute. It is was a terrible experience for me.And it takes long time to adjust myself. Later, I just study in a common high school and graduated.
I took a long time to find myself. I know how hard for my experience. How hard it is to leave music for a long time. I think I love music. And I can not leave music. That is my daily life. I want to do my best in music.

Reflection

This post for my last blog assignment.

If let me to do some conclusions for this semester English lesson.
I thought I will say, we really have a great teacher. Chris is a nice guy.

Last semester I even don not know anything about blog.And we have a lot of website can help us
to improve our English. It is really nice thing.

I thought my English is improved.

Every presentation help me know how to present myself. And make me more confident.

Live Performance Review

At this month. YSTCM have two important Concerts.
One is Called" French Festival" . The other one is symphony concert.

First. The " French Festival" is a chamber concert. My major teacher performance on this concert. He have some solo piece need to performance and also he need to be accompaniment with other instrument.
Second. The Symphony Concert.
These Concert is our school's director last time to conduct our school's orchestra. These two symphony is "Daphnies" and " petrushka"

These two concert is too different. First concert is for woodwind. In our school 's woodwind teacher they all performance on this concert. I have expect to see our teacher's perfarmance It should be brilliant. As people know, the chamber music. Especially, composed by french composer. That is more colorful. more gentle. The performannor on the stage especially for woman. they can wear more colorful clothes.
But if you on the Symphony Concert. you can not wear too colorful.And most of Symphonies is very seriously. Maybe you can not feel to relax for these concert. But I think for these concert. everybody doing quit well than I expect.

The Young Conductor

I just heard some pieces conducted by Gustavo Dudamel.

To be honest, I was surprised about the orchestra performence. Well, the conductor doing quite well, but can not to say he is a young genius.

For my opinion, The conductor is really nice. He have talent and passion. But the orchestra gave him great help.

If the orchestra is not good enough , even here have a great conductor. It not easy to appreciate the symphony.

Well, Obviously. The conductor have abundant experience. He can control the orchestra esaily. And I can feel he is really a hard work student. He is take the focus on the music.

But on another hand. I am an performaner, I was played in the orchestra. So from my point, I really appreciate the orchestra's cooperatetion.

It's a great orchestra, even they are young . I am still can feel the music they are trying to expressive.

I know this concert is for El Sistema . it's a an musical education program, Help some people who have natural gift about music.

It is nice can hear some fantastic music like this.

I really hope we will have more and more orchestra like The Teresa Carreño Youth Orchestra.
That will help classical music development and transmission.

Today, I got a new assignment, that I have to do .
OK, well. That is not a homework. I just introduce the singer who I like to hear in these days.

My favorite music is Jazz. But I am not only hear some Jazz Music.I also would like to hear some Lounge, Latin, R&B,J-pop music at free time.

Today I introduce a kind of R&B music.
For me, if let me give an definition. I would like to call his music " Lounge R&B". I think Robin Thicke combine this two kinds of music toghter.

He has won three Grammys and has written and produced for Michael Jackson, Lil’ Wayne, Mary J. Blige, Christina Aguilera, Pink, Marc Anthony and Jennifer Hudson, and has ultimately contributed to over 40 gold and platinum records by other artists.

He is a really good singer and his music emit a sort of indolent and warm. In addition he really a charming guy.
I first heard him when I living in China. At that time when I listened his music. I felt ralex when I heard his music. It is very suit for hear when you walk on the beach ,Also very suit for Singapore's weather. Because it is warm.
Well,he always Sing some Love songs.

To be honest. He is song is a little bit commercial. But for nowadays, I thought he is doing the great job both at music and commerce.

I recommend his songs called" the Sweetest Love" and " You are my baby" from his album ---Something Else.
That is really good album. Just try to listen, Maybe you will like.
